This Waiver of Counsel contains provisions which explicitly state that the opportunity to seek independent counsel was considered and then knowingly and voluntarily waived. A Waiver of Counsel protects both parties and ensures that the terms of the subject contract are not undermined by a later claim that a party did not understand the legal ramifications of what he or she was signing. This Waiver of Counsel is not intended for use in a criminal proceeding or in an employment context.
